About

Hello! I’m Lulu and I’m a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in April 2014. I immediately underwent chemotherapy. By God’s grace, I was in remission 4 months later. In the past 2 years, I have gone on and off naturapathic treatment. I still feel I have a long way to go but I also feel that my soul is finally at rest. From where I stand, the journey to wellness is now joyful rather than arduous.

bald and proud

I decided to shave off my hair shortly after it started falling off. No tears, just love. Red lipstick is indeed a girl’s best friend!

My quest for wellness began a couple of years before I got sick with the Big C. I grew up a fat kid so my primary focus then was to get down to my ideal weight. I might have done myself more harm than good by trying fad diets and regimens. I also juggled a lot of activities in hopes of finding happiness. My body, mind and spirit ended up fatigued.

Finally finished a half marathon on July 3, 2016! And I’m even happier because it was for the benefit of The Cancer Warrior’s Foundation. Thank you GNC!

I am writing this blog to share lessons I’ve learned (and continue to grasp) on my journey to wellness. I also find writing therapeutic because it gives me an avenue to express my ideas and emotions. Lastly, I wish to connect with people who share the same zest for life as I do. I believe that community is very helpful in moving us forward to our goals. I hope to exchange stories with you soon!

I dedicate this blog to everyone who has suffered from cancer, especially to the lovely Leah-rose who succumbed to leukemia on October 14, 2015. She was 29 years old. Her passing was so sudden. It strengthened my resolve to spread the word on cancer prevention.

I also dedicate this work to the Almighty God who has been with me throughout the journey. May we always find the courage to walk His path and trust in Him.

Be well,
